PLEXR Xanthelasma removal - Innovative Technology

This innovative technology utilises plasma - formed through ionisation of atmospheric gasses - to stimulate instant contraction and tightening of skin fibres. This technology does not use scalpel or laser to remove excess skin, thereby avoiding all risks inherent to the traditional intervention. The treatment is performed without cutting, burning or removing excess skin or fat.

The treatment is performed through minute spots made with the Plexr device at certain distance one from the other to stimulate instant contaction and tightening of skin fibres. Each of these spots sublimates the superficial corneocytes without affecting the basal laminae and without causing bleeding and more importantly without causing any damage to the surrounding tissue and the ones beneath.

A typical session will last no more than 30 minutes, although patients are required to attend the appointment an hour prior to the actual procedure to have topical numbing cream applied to the area to be treated. The mild crustations will fall off after 3 to 5 days. Most people see noticeable result after the first treatment although some may require more than one treatment and this is subject to your personal expectation. Patients may experience some swelling and mild discomfort in the treated area following your treatment and this may last up to three days. Any residual crustations will resolve within 5-7 days, but can be covered with liquid foundation. We will discuss your treatment and what you can expect during your consultation.

Xanthelasma (or xanthelasma palpebrarum) is a sharply demarcated yellowish deposit of fat underneath the skin, usually on or around the eyelids. While they are neither harmful nor painful, these minor growths may be disfiguring and can be removed.

PLEXR Xanthelasma FAQ

How does Plexr work?

This innovative technology utilises plasma - formed through ionisation of atmospheric gasses - to stimulate instant contraction and tightening of skin fibres. This technology does not use scalpel or laser to remove excess skin, thereby avoiding all risks inherent to the traditional intervention. The treatment is performed without cutting, burning or removing excess skin or fat.

Your Plexr consultation

It is compulsory for all our prospective patients to have a face-to-face consultation prior to making an appointment for this procedure. During the consultation, we will analyse your issues, examine your face and/or and discuss the range of treatment options available. There is absolutely no obligation at all for you to take up any treatment and the consultation may or may not lead to your having this treatment.

What areas can be treated?

Theoretically, this device can be used over the entire body for skin tightening, although use this device only for upper and lower eyelids tightening as well as brow lift. This is because we believe in offering our patients the best result and by sub-specialising in brow lift and non-surgical blepharoplasty, we can hone our skills and expertise in offering the safest and most effective results.

During Plexr Treatment

Treatment takes around 30-40 minutes depending on the area(s) of the face being treated. You are required to attend the clinic an hour prior to your actual treatment so as topical numbing can be applied to the area to be treated to minimise the risk of discomfort during the procedure.

After Plexr treatment

Immediately after treatment the treated area(s) will be quite red and mildly swollen. Mild crustations/discoloration will be seen in the treated area(s). Swelling may intensify over the following few hours and may last 2-3 days. The crustations/discoloration should resolve within 5-7 days. Make-up or liquid foundation may be applied the following day. You will be provided some medications to help with the swelling and discomfort. Results are seen instantly after the treatment, although this gradually improves over the course of the following 2-4 weeks

How long until i see results?

Results are seen instantly after the treatment, although this gradually improves over the course of the following 2-4 weeks.

How long does Plexr last?

The treatment stimulates instant contraction and shortening of skin fibres and this process continues to take effect in the first 2-4 weeks. The effect of the treatment is subjective to number of treatments and your ageing process, but typically may last a few years. You will age as you would otherwise and your skin will continue to lengthen and relax as part of the ageing process. We recommend repeat treatment 12 months after the initial procedure.

How many Plexr treatments are required?

The number of treatments required will vary according to severity of the laxity, the desired degree of correction and the individual's physiological response to the treatment. Our patients have seen superior results compared to other practitioners which only offer basic treatment protocol. Most of our patients see results instantly and this continues to improve over the course of the following 2-4 weeks. You may wish to have further treatment to get better result, although it is unusual for anyone to require more than two treatments. Should you wish to have second treatment, this should be carried out at 6-8 weekly intervals.
